Implant Treatment

Implant Treatment

The implant is a durable, comfortable and reliable method that is made of pure titanium, which is a tissue-friendly material, applied to replace the extracted teeth with aesthetics and function.

Why dental implants?

Dental implants prevent bone loss. What does this mean? Normally, when a tooth is extracted, the bone tissue in the extracted area will melt. This is a physiological meltdown that we don’t want. If an implant is applied to that area immediately after tooth extraction, this bone loss will not occur. Thus, since there is no bone loss in that area, there is no gingival recession and loss of bone tissue, and much more aesthetic results are obtained.

Will there be pain during implant placement?

The process of placing the implant; It is performed more comfortably with local anesthesia than tooth extraction. It is a completely painless application.

Can the implant be applied immediately to the extracted tooth?

If there is a suitable bone gap immediately after tooth extraction, the implants are applied immediately so that the treatment is completed in one session instead of the patient undergoing 2 operations. Choosing a suitable implant for this is extremely important.

Implant application can also be performed after adequate bone healing is expected following tooth extraction.

Especially in our patients who have lost the chance to use fixed prostheses due to tooth deficiencies or who complain that their total prosthesis is not stable in their mouths due to bone resorption, the first thing that comes to mind will be an alternative implant treatment. With the support of 2 or more implants, removable prostheses, which are popularly called palate, can be fixed in the mouth, or palate-like fixed restorations, which we call hybrid prosthesis, can be made in the light of the latest technological developments.

How long does it take to complete the placement operation and prosthesis?

The duration of the surgery can vary from half an hour to several hours, depending on the number of implants to be placed and the patient’s conditions. After the operation, it is waited for 3-6 months for the implant and bone to fuse (osseointegration). Then, prostheses are placed on these implants with an application that takes several sessions. With the help of newly developing technologies, the waiting times for ossification have been shortened considerably.

The success rate of dental implant applications reaches 98%. It has been accepted that implant teeth can be used for a very long time, almost for a lifetime. There is such a rapid development in implant applications that it is now being discussed that the implant should be placed in the mouth on the same day after tooth extraction and the completion of aesthetic applications. According to the situation of the cases, the quality of life of the people is increased by implant applications, 6 or 8 implants placed in the lower and upper jaws and completely fixed prostheses.

What are the advantages of implant treatment?

One of the biggest advantages of the implant is that no operation is performed on the adjacent teeth. Normally, when a fixed bridge is being made for you, your two teeth adjacent to the gap have to be cut. Implants are made only in the extraction spaces and the side two teeth are never touched.

  • Better chewing and eating whatever you want
  • Better view
  • A balanced and healthy diet based on being able to eat everything.

Is implant application an expensive treatment?

Implant application is an application that requires a higher expenditure than other dental services. However, when compared to other prosthesis applications; It is certain that implant application is more economical in the long run. In a study conducted on patients whose implant treatments were completed, patients stated that they got a return on their investment and would have the same thing done again if necessary.
